High School / CollegE Intensive

Our main stage production for the 2018 season will be SPRING AWAKENING!  The show is based on the play by Frank Wedekind. It is the groundbreaking fusion of morality, sexuality and rock & roll with a book and lyrics by Steven Sater and music by Duncan Sheik. It is the winner of 8 Tony Awards (2007) including best musical and the winner of the 2008 Grammy award for Best Musical Show Album. SPRING AWAKENING celebrates the unforgettable journey from youth to adulthood with a power, a poignancy and a passion you will never forget.

LOCATIONs

Rehearsals during our first week (July 16-20) will take place at Walt Whitman High School, 301 West Hills Road, South Huntington, NY, 11746.

Rehearsals during our second week (July 21-28) will take place at the Adelphi University's Performing Arts Center, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY, 11530. 

Students will pack their lunch and snack daily.

PARENTAL ADVISORY

SPRING AWAKENING is an important musical by Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik which contains language and subject matter that may not be suitable for all families.  Please research this musical to determine whether or not your child should participate.  Click here to read the synopsis and character descriptions. Parents of 9th graders are welcome to enroll their child in the Middle School Intensive performing HAMILTON instead of the High School Intensive.

Admission to the program is competitive and by audition only. For your video audition, record yourself performing two contrasting songs of your choosing. One from SPRING AWAKENING and the other reflecting the theme of "Teen Angst." Each selection must be 32-bars in length. 

FEES

Registration(if accepted): $1,100

If you receive a call back, a non-refundable deposit of $200 will be due prior to the scheduling of your call back audition. The balance of the fee is due by June 1.

Registrations received after June 1 must be paid in full. Cancellations after June 1 receive a refund (less deposit, above) only if another student can be placed from the waiting list.

$100 Late Fee will be added to tuition for registrations received one week prior to starting date of camp. Fees include all class instruction and a LIMTF T-shirt.
